Grandparent (or older relative) Interview

10/23/2018

Dear Parents,

Our class has been comparing the past and present. We have learned about may of the things that have changed over the past 200 years. We have learned about the different types of sources, primary and secondary. We have also been discussing how we can use technology to learn about the past. We have learned that interviews are one type of primary source we can use to learn about the past.

So that your child can learn more about their family and things long ago, please help your child set up an interview with a grandparent or older relative. It does not have to be a relative, it can be a friend or neighbor. We will be comparing our lives to the lives of our older relatives, so be sure you get plenty of information that is both similar and different.

The interview sheet is due Friday, October 26th. If the project is not turned in on time, one point will be subtracted each day it is late. Your child should be the one asking the questions and recording the answers. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your help with this project!
